Signs a Client May Need
Specialized Betrayal Trauma Recovery Support
Betrayal trauma is not simply emotional pain after infidelity. It is a nervous system injury that disrupts attachment safety, cognitive clarity, and identity. The following presentations are common indicators that specialized betrayal trauma therapy may help.
- Recently discovered a partner’s infidelity, secret sexual behavior, or pornography addiction
- Presenting with intrusive thoughts, hypervigilance, or emotional flooding that interferes with daily functioning
- Difficulty sleeping, concentrating, or making basic decisions since discovery
- Feeling like she is “losing her mind” or questioning her own perception of reality
- Unsure whether to stay or leave but unable to think clearly enough to evaluate the relationship
- The case involves partner sex or love addiction and exceeds your scope of practice or comfort level
- She is in the acute phase of betrayal discovery and needs more support than weekly sessions allow
- She has told her story before and has not felt fully believed or understood
“Betrayal trauma recovery is first a nervous system event before it is a relationship decision. When the nervous system is stabilized, clarity naturally follows.”

Stabilization Intensives
For clients in the acute phase of betrayal discovery, a stabilization intensive offers focused support. This extended support is something that weekly therapy alone often cannot provide.
What the Intensive Provides
There are two half-day sessions. These sessions are structured around the Woodland Pathways Model. It is designed to help a woman move from acute nervous system overwhelm. The goal is to find stability, clarity, and a personal recovery roadmap for betrayal trauma recovery
The goal is not to replace your ongoing therapeutic relationship with her. It is to get her grounded and regulated so she can return to therapy ready to do the deeper work.
Sessions focus on:
- · Nervous system stabilization and grounding
- · Psychoeducation on betrayal trauma responses
- · Clarifying the emotional reality of the situation
- · Reconnecting her to self-trust and instinct
- · Creating a personalized betrayal trauma recovery roadmap
Format
The program consists of two half-day sessions. They are conducted over two consecutive days. You can attend via secure Zoom telehealth. Alternatively, sessions can be attended in person in a peaceful wooded setting near Leavenworth, Washington.

Will you replace my ongoing therapeutic relationship with her? No. The stabilization intensive is designed to complement your work, not replace it. The goal is to get her grounded and regulated. What if I’m not sure whether my client is appropriate for an intensive? You’re welcome to reach out directly to discuss clinical fit. I’m happy to consult briefly with referring professionals before a client makes contact. Intensives are most appropriate for women who are medically stable and not in acute psychiatric crisis.
Is this only for clients in Washington State? Telehealth services are available to clients residing in Washington State. Clients may prefer in-person intensives near Leavenworth, Washington. This option is available regardless of where they reside. Intensives fall outside the telehealth licensure requirement.
Do you accept insurance for intensives? Intensives are private pay. Many clients use HSA or FSA accounts. A superbill can be provided upon request for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider.
