About Teresa Zuvela, LMHC , Betrayal Trauma Specialist

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State. I have over two decades of clinical experience. My practice is Telehealth, no in person sessions for weekly therapy. Betrayal Trauma Therapist .

I support women through betrayal, attachment injury, and relational trauma. My professional path has been shaped by a deep respect for the nervous system. It has also been shaped by the impact of attachment. Additionally, it reflects the lived experience of women who have carried far too much for far too long.

I know how disorienting betrayal can be. It makes you question your judgment. You question your worth and even your reality.

My work is grounded, compassionate, and steady. I help women slow down. They learn to listen to their bodies. They also make sense of what they are experiencing without judgment. There is no pressure or rushing toward answers.

Healing happens in relationship. I believe your nervous system carries important information about what is safe and true for you.

You may be deciding whether to stay or leave.
You may be trying to understand why this happened.
You may simply want the chaos inside you to quiet down.

Wherever you are on the path, I will meet you there. I will walk with you as you reclaim clarity. You will regain self-trust and peace.

Clinical Training & Specialization

I am trained in:

  • Attachment-Focused EMDR (Parnell Institute & Certified by EMDRIA)
  • Certified Partner Trauma Treatment (CPTT)
  • Certified Sex Addiction Therapist–informed models (CSAT)
  • Trauma-informed, parts-based therapy

This allows me to work effectively with complex trauma, betrayal injury, and long-term relational trauma.

My Philosophy

Healing is not about fixing what is broken.

It is about helping your system recognize that the danger has passed. You no longer have to live in constant vigilance.

I work collaboratively, respectfully, and at a pace your body can tolerate.
